Eat, pray, love – the daily basic necessities! I’ve heard wonderful things about this book, but haven’t read it yet!
Tally // October 29, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Do you know that your blog’s name is grammatically wrong? It should be “cheaper THAN cheap”. The word “then” simply means “later.”
Hillary // October 29, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Eat, pray, love…three of my favorite things. And three things I can share with my husband, which makes them even more wonderful.

Eat.Pray.Love.
Sounds like the basic necessities of life to me. Whether you’re religious or not, the joy and happiness should come from all areas of ones’ life. I’ve heard a lot about this book, but have yet to read it. I hope to!

I was a single mom until very recently. It was hard but with God you can and will make it through. I found that blogging helped me a great deal. I also found that it helped other single moms out there.
Thanks for the opportunity to win the book! I would love to read it!

A friend has told me about this book and I’ve wanted to read it ever since! Eat, pray, love. I think it’s about doing things with meaning. Don’t just eat, but eat food that you like. Pray, have a spiritual life. Love, LOVE!
Sarah // October 29, 2007 at 9:26 pm
You say this book is good for those who have been through change or trauma. I’m not looking for a pity party, but I lost my son, my 4th child, this past spring and it has been quite an adjustment, to say the least. This sounds like a soothing book. Thanks for the chance to win it.
Meleah // October 29, 2007 at 9:28 pm
I have been eyeing this book at Barnes & Noble for awhile now. Eat — I am very good at this. Pray — I need to do more. Love — I can never have enough. I hope this says what it means to me sufficiently. Thanks for this giveaway.

It sounds great from your description.
Your site intrigues me, so I am bookmarking it in order that I may come visit again when I have more than a moment.
Thanks for dropping by today.

Perfect book to pay forward to someone who hasn’t read it….every woman should read this book. No husbands allowed though….this is a girlie book through and through.
I blogged about it in the spring: http://holy-schmidt.blogspot.com/2007/04/pasta-puja-and-promise-pilgrims-tale.html
I wish I had caught her on Oprah – I’m so bummed. Oh well, re-runs will be here before we know it.
Good luck and Happy Halloween to you and Roo. We made my parents bring down Cdn candies (smarties, aero bars and coffee crisp) – I’m debating whether to hand them out or gorge on them.
I would EAT them all cuz I LOVE Cadbury chocolate, all the while PRAYing I don’t get sick or fat.

I’ll be sure and get your new blog on my SpaceWalk addy board, I’d wondered how to find you again, Sweet Hollie Girl! It sounds like a good book, but you shouldn’t need a contest to get readers, you’re just that cool all by your winsome self. Can’t wait to find out how you and miss Roo are doing.
Blessings!

Our family has been trying to make the change to eating locally, organically and healthfully. It’s a challenge where we live, but I’ve been wanting to read Eat, Pray Love for some time – I think it would be great motivation. We all need to leave a smaller footprint.

The title makes me think of family dinners with my family growing up, and the prayer my dad always said.
I would like this book for my neighbor, whose husband was just sent to jail and is now raising her three boys on her own, plus paying child support for her husband’s son from a previous relationship. She’s going through a very difficult time and needs all the encouragement she can get.

Not only does the cover look pretty, but the title? All me in just 3 little words:
Eat? Yep, I do that.
Pray? Uh-huh. That too.
Love? Like it’s going out of style.
And I could use another book to read, especially one recommended by a fave blogger of mine: YOU!

I’d like the chance to enter. I’ve been struggling profoundly with my (abusive) childhood and feeling alone lately.
Eat=how much is enough? gluttony, starvation – been through both
Pray=something I was great at as a child and still do, but don’t feel like I used to
Love=God’s amazing love, my husband’s love, my child’s love – and the hole where the love of my parents should have been. I don’t know why, but maybe I’m not letting God fill that hole for me. Interesting thought.
Sorry to ramble, but I’ll leave it in case it helps someone else.
Thanks,
Leia

Considering that three years ago, I had not met my husband and was living in Iraq…and since that time I’ve moved back to the States (and three times more since then), changed jobs three times, finished a degree, met and married my husband, and had our son just shy of our first anniversary…not to mention the deaths of several people close to me (although no immediate family)…really all I’m missing of the major life events is a divorce…and it’s all been smushed into three years. Whew…I need to catch my breath!
I could use some free therapy! Pick me!
Maggie // November 1, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Eat, Pray ,Love… To me these have been things I’ve really had to focus on in the last 11 months following the break-up of my marriage, then followed by major surgery….both of which were totally unexpected. So every day I’ve had to remind myself that I need to do things for myself to pull myself out of this valley.
So please count me in. Any motivation is welcome. Thanks for the giveaway.

To me…”eat” to survive physically, “pray” to survive spiritually, and “love” to survive emotionally
.

Hmmm – this sounded like a great book when it was reviewed on Oprah – I just think the order is somewhat interesting . . . I’d probably put it Pray, Love, and Eat . .

Well, those are all things that I need to survive, but also things that I love to do and bring me fulfillment.

I JUST finished this book, and LOVED it!
It reminded me to take the time out to enjoy the little things in life – good food, prayer/meditation/time with myself, and good company (which may or may not include romantic love, but it feeds the soul either way.)
